Summer Barbecue

This year we return to the lovely garden at the residence of  Maggie and Larry Burr.
Their gracious hospitality allows us the use of their large back yard and wonderful pool.
The Burr residence is located at

The Society provides and prepares the meat and fish part of the main course.  This year our “ Master BBQ Chefs” will be preparing salmon, and a variety of sausages!

The Society also provides all the wines. There will be a multitude of varieties and styles,  that include many of the finest American reds, whites, sparklers and dessert wines.  There are too many to list - come and see for yourself!

The Society supplies all dishes, cutlery and glassware. 

Members and their guests supply the other categories of food (see below for details). This is a chance to show off your favourite summer recipes.

Please bring your food ready to serve, as there will not be any facilities available for preparation.

If your dish needs to be kept chilled, a limited number of coolers will be available.

Members might like to bring lawn chairs, cameras, sunscreen (hopefully it will be necessary!)  and, of course, their guests. 

Please make sure all your personal items including dishes are clearly marked with your name. Also bring any non-alcoholic beverages for your personal consumption. As this event is a long one, it is a good idea to drink plenty of water, soda or juices.
 
THE DETAILS
The three categories of food to select from are
1. Appetizers     2. Vegetables & Salads     3. Desserts
-Please indicate your selections on the reservation form or on-line.
-Make sure that each person (including your guests) bring enough food to
serve six hungry people. This may seem like a lot but because the event lasts for 6 hours there needs to be plenty of food.
Please don’t skimp.
Also included in the negligible admission fee of $30 for members and $40 for guests is the
WINERY T-SHIRT COMPETITION. 
             This is a very popular event. There are a number of different categories. Some competitors bring more than one T-shirt!

 
REMEMBER
There will be plenty available to drink. Please pace yourself as the alcohol can really sneak up on you on a long, hot afternoon. 
It is strongly advised to have a designated driver in your group.
