Monday, May 11, 2009 6:30 P.M. at 1864 West 57th Ave. (Near West Blvd.) Despite their plaudits
it’s not been the critics who have made Senova such a success
since its opening in November of 2005, but rather proprietor Manuel
Ferreira’s “cuisine of the sun” which captures the
warmth and hospitality of the Iberian Peninsula. Intriguing dishes
influenced by the cooking of Portugal and Spain have pride of place,
but Senova pays homage as well to neighbouring France, where Portuguese
native Manuel rounded out his restaurant experience. The reputation
Manuel built at Le Gavroche, his downtown Vancouver restaurant,
continues uptown at Senova.
